Savvy Dog Mom
This blog was born out of the chaos and magic of modern dog mom life. I didn’t start it because I had all the answers. I started it because I was overwhelmed, Googling at 2:00 am, knee-deep in puppy pads, wondering if I was doing this right – and realizing I couldn’t be the only one.
Savvy Dog Mom is my way of saying: You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to show up – with love, a leash, and maybe a really good lint roller.

Meet the Dog Mom Behind the Blog
Where Canine Companionship Meets Life+Style Inspiration
Welcome to our pack, where every story is celebrated, and every wagging tail tells a tale of love and companionship. I’m Becky – founder of Savvy Dog Mom, proud rescue pup mom, full-time dog treat dealer, and firm believer that dogs are a people. If you’ve ever cried into your dog’s fur, rearranged your travel plans around your pup’s potty schedule, or whispered “I love you” to your dog like a total weirdo (but meant it with your whole heart) – you’re my kind of people.

What I Believe
- Dogs are a people. Please don’t argue with me on this. You’ll lose.
- Your home can be beautiful and full of fur.
- Dog mom life is real life — not Instagram-perfect, but perfectly worth it.
- Crate training takes patience. So does puppy adolescence. And so does not crying when they eat your favorite shoe.
- Loving a dog changes you — sometimes in messy, life-saving, beautifully unexpected ways.

A Few Quirky Things About Me and the Dogs
- I’m a dessert-for-breakfast kind of girl. Bonus points if it’s cake.
- My dogs are my “roommates with no rent and too many opinions.”
- I believe chew toys should be cute and functional.
- I redecorated my living room recently because the crate “wasn’t in the right vibe zone.”
- If my dog likes you, I probably will, too.
- Porter is an obedience school dropout – and honestly, we’re both okay with that.
- Carly has daily nappy-nap times where I sit with her like a toddler who won’t fall asleep alone.

Final Tail Wags
Whether you’re raising a new puppy or loving your lifelong best friend, I’m so glad you’re here. This blog is for the real ones – the dog moms figuring it out as they go, loving hard, and showing up every day. Let’s do this – one wag at a time. With love and lots of barks — Becky.
